Pink Sky is an indie electronica duo from Grand Rapids, MI that performs with hardware synths, drum machines, samplers, electric pianos, and live visuals.
Their self-released debut album, FORMS, was released on vinyl and all major platforms on August 25th and hit #13 on the NACC Electronic Chart. FORMS was the #5 Most Played Album on WYCE 88.1FM in 2018 and won a Jammie for the Best Electronic Album.
PINK SKY is currently recording their second full-length album and completing degrees in Painting, Visual and Critical Studies, and Recording Technology while playing shows in the midwest and preparing to tour in Spring & Summer 2019.
Comprised of husband and wife, Ryan and Angelica Hay, PINK SKY channels their turbulent personal stories of loss and trauma into immersive audio-visual beauty, and seeks to build community through transformative art-making. PINK SKY hosts an art and music series (HAY YAH House Shows) that features two synth-based artists and two visual artists each month during the spring and summer.
PINK SKY is part of a growing indie synth scene in West Michigan. PINK SKY was the #1 Most Played Regional Artist on WYCE 88.1FM in July 2018, and is currently spinning at college radio stations nationwide.
Recently, PINK SKY has received notable press in Revue magazine, Rapid Growth Media, WYCE’s Local Spins, and The Seraphine Collective’s Vidlings & Tapeheads.
Upcoming and recent shows include performances at The Pyramid Scheme, The Loving Touch, Hamtramck Korner Bar, Mexicains Sans Frontieres, The Grand Rapids Public Library, Lions and Rabbits Art Gallery, The Witch House, Green Acres (house), GRLIVE, In The Clouds Music Festival, Lamp Light Music Festival, and Blue Bridge Music Festival.
In 2019, Pink Sky pledged to donate 10% of profits to local charities that advocate for social justice and environmental issues. Each month, Pink Sky will choose a new charity for donations. In January 2019, Pink Sky will be donating to Well House GR.
